Türkiye to Host 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Monday that Türkiye will host the 2026 NATO leaders summit in Ankara, where key decisions are expected to be made, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Speaking after a Cabinet meeting, Erdoğan highlighted recent progress in the "terror-free Türkiye" initiative, warning of attempts to undermine these efforts by PKK-linked elements.
He referenced jailed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s February call for the group’s dissolution after decades of violence. The PKK, designated a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU, has waged a 40-year campaign that has claimed over 40,000 lives.
