Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum Makis Voridis, Bulgarian Interior Minister Daniel Mitov, and Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya attended the talks.
Voridis highlighted a 30% drop in land border arrivals and a 38% decrease in migrant flows to the Aegean islands compared to 2024. He credited the improved cooperation between the Greek Coast Guard, Hellenic Police, and Turkish authorities. “Border control belongs to the states again,” he said. On returns, Voridis emphasized that effective migration policy is impossible without a strong return policy.
