Italian PM: Government Will Fight Illegal Immigration Practices

"One year ago, while many were shouting scandal and accusing us of propaganda, I filed a complaint with the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office to denounce serious irregularities in the 'click day' system for residence permits. Since then, several serious criminal actions connected to the trafficking of residence permits have come to light. Today, according to press reports, further disturbing confirmations arrive: digitally fabricated identities, false hires, links with clans, money exchanged for illegal access to our country. An organized and criminal network, uncovered thanks to the work of the judiciary and law enforcement," writes Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on social media, CE Report quotes ANSA.

"We were right. And we had the duty to denounce it. The Government will continue to fight every form of illegality linked to immigration because Italy is not a land of conquest for traffickers of permits and for those living by cunning and shortcuts. Forward, without fear," concludes the Prime Minister.
