During the Eucharistic service in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV entrusted families, especially those suffering from the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

This was reported by Vatican News, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"May the Virgin Mary bless the families and support them in their difficulties: I mean, in particular, those families who are suffering because of the war in the Middle East, Ukraine and other parts of the world. May the Mother of God help us to follow the path of peace together," the pontiff said.

The Eucharistic service on the occasion of the Jubilee of Families, Grandparents and the Elderly ended with the recitation of the Queen of Heaven prayer.

Pope Leo XIV also expressed joy over the beatification of the nuns-martyrs in Poland who died at the hands of Red Army soldiers.

As reported, on May 28, Pope Leo XIV called for an end to the war in Ukraine, which has suffered from massive shelling in recent days, during a general audience.
