New Prosecutor General Appointed in Moldova

Alexandru Machidon, the deputy chief prosecutor of the Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), has been appointed acting Prosecutor General. President Maia Sandu signed the decree following the Superior Council of Prosecutors’ proposal. Machidon replaces Ion Munteanu, who became a judge at the Supreme Court of Justice. His appointment was supported by 10 out of 11 CSP members. Previously, Machidon held positions in Orhei and Criuleni districts, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
