Runoff Elections Set for June 1

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Moldova has announced that runoff mayoral elections will be held on June 1, 2025, in four localities: Boldurești (Nisporeni district), Tabani (Briceni district), Chiperceni (Orhei district), and Talmaza (Ștefan Vodă district), CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

No candidate secured a majority in the May 18 elections, prompting the need for a second round. The top two candidates from each locality will appear on the ballot, listed according to the number of votes received in the first round.

Voting will follow the same procedures and use the same electoral lists as in the first round. Campaign spending limits for the runoff include previously reported expenses and cannot exceed the ceiling set by the CEC.
