
Triantopoulos' Bold Decision Defended by Government Spokesperson
Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis on Wednesday supported former deputy minister Christos Triantopoulos’ decision to bypass a parliamentary investigation and directly request a council of justices to review the accusations against him related to the Tempi accident, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
Marinakis described Triantopoulos' move as "brave," highlighting that there was no evidence linking him to the incident. He emphasized that Triantopoulos chose to be judged by a judicial council, composed of Supreme Court and Council of State members, which will decide if his case should be referred to a special court.
Marinakis also pointed out that the decision aims to address public distrust in institutions and politics. He criticized the opposition's hypocrisy and reaffirmed that the government would not obstruct the investigation into the Tempi accident, which is being handled by prosecutors in Larissa.
