Free concert in Skopje to showcase young classical musicians

Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia will open its concert season with a concert of works by Haydn, Popper, Babadzhanyan, Arutiunian, Nikolovski and Shuplevski.

Featuring Aleksandar Ickovski on cello and David Pavikj on piano, the concert will begin at 8 pm at the Cultural and Information Center's Salon 19:19. Admission is free, CE Report quotes MIA.

Aleksandar Ickovski (b. 2007, Skopje) is an award-winning cellist who has performed at many international festivals and collaborated with European youth orchestras.

David Pavikj (b. 2005, Skopje) is an award-winning pianist and chamber musician, often appearing as an accompanist in the Macedonian Opera and Ballet.

The concert is part of the JMM's “The Young for the Young” series of concerts aimed at promoting young performers and composers by providing them with stage experience and direct contact with the audience.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of North Macedonia.
