Bulgaria remains Türkiye’s second-largest export market among neighbours

Bulgaria remains in second place in terms of Türkiye’s exports to neighbouring countries, according to data for the period from the beginning of 2026 through September, Anadolu Agency reported. According to the data, exports to Bulgaria during the period amounted to USD 3.9 billion, up 16% year-on-year.

The leader also remains unchanged, with Iraq in first place, as Türkiye exported goods and services worth USD 6.7 billion there.

Greece ranks third, with exports worth USD 2.6 billion, followed by Georgia in fourth place with USD 2.2 billion, CE Report quotes BTA.

In percentage terms, the data on the growth of Turkish exports during the same period show that exports to Georgia increased the most, by 19.6%. Syria ranks second, with an increase of 19%, while Bulgaria is third, with 16%. Türkiye’s exports to neighbouring countries increased by 3.2% in January-September 2026, reaching USD 20.9 billion.

Overall, Turkish exports increased by 5.2% during the same period, reaching USD 210.973 billion.

Chemical products accounted for the largest share of exports to neighbouring countries. Cereals, pulses, oilseeds and related products ranked second, followed by furniture, paper and wood products in third place. Ornamental plants ranked last.
