Serbia, Chinese company sign framework agreement for high-tech battery factory
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met with representatives of Chinese company Jiangsu Reliance Energy Tech, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of batteries for high-tech devices.
Following the meeting, President Vučić attended the signing of a Framework Agreement on the construction of a factory in Inđija for the production of high-tech batteries for drones, humanoid robots, unmanned vehicles, advanced power tools and household appliances, CE Report informs via the President of the Republic of Serbia's official website.
In a joint address to the media, President Vučić expressed hope that, with the help of Chinese partners, Serbia would build one of the largest drone factories in Europe.
“Good news for Serbia and Inđija, and this is only the beginning. One of the world’s leading companies in advanced battery technologies is coming to our country, and I believe this will be another turning point in Serbia’s future economic development,” President Vučić said.
He added that the company is dynamic and technologically advanced and has reached the highest level in the field of modern battery technologies, highlighting its team of experts, innovation potential, patents and cooperation with leading global companies across various industries.
“Batteries sought by the world’s leading companies will be made and produced right here in Serbia. In this way, we will retain our people, improve production and enable the transfer of advanced knowledge and technologies to our country,” President Vučić said.
President Vučić expressed his gratitude to the Chinese partners and President Xi Jinping, describing the development as major and important news for Serbia and its high-tech industry.
“We are very happy that we can count on your support and learn from you, just as you can count on us,” President Vučić said.
