The EU and the United States have agreed on a joint statement on tariffs following the political agreement reached between President Ursula von der Leyen and President Donald Trump on July 27, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The announcement was made by the European Commission.

"The joint statement outlines in detail the new U.S. tariff regime toward the EU, with a maximum and comprehensive tariff rate of 15% for the vast majority of EU exports, including strategic sectors such as automobiles, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and timber."
