Bulgaria Not at Risk Amid Mideast Tensions

Bulgaria is not facing immediate danger from the escalating tensions in the Middle East, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov assured Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during a security briefing, the Government Information Service reported. Airspace surveillance over Bulgaria has been increased as a precaution, CE Report quotes BTA

The Foreign Ministry has advised Bulgarian citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately and urged those in Israel to register with the embassy. Bulgarians in the broader Middle East — including Iraq, Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia — are encouraged to stay informed and follow local authorities' guidance.
