The Media and Tourism conference was opened at Hutovo Blato Nature Park, Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing on the role of media in branding tourist destinations.

The conference is organized by the Federal News Agency (FENA) in cooperation with the Tourism Board of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the City of Čapljina, CE Report quotes FENA.

The aim of the event is to emphasize the key role of media in shaping perceptions and promoting tourist destinations.

According to the FBiH Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katić, tourism is no longer simplified as it once was, but represents the entirety of a destination’s space, people, and culture.

This is precisely where the importance of media lies, as they have the power to convey the image and voice of a tourist destination worldwide, she added.

Minister Katić also highlighted the importance of developing digital infrastructure, without which modern tourism is unimaginable.

She stressed that the development of transport infrastructure must be coordinated with and subordinate to the preservation of nature and natural resources.

The task of conferences like today’s, Minister Katić added, is to provide ideas on how to create a strong, sustainable, and internationally recognized image of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
