
Student teams compete in International Cybersecurity Defense Challenge 2025
Thirty student teams from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and Iowa are participating in the 2025 International Cybersecurity Defense Challenge, held at the University of Prishtina’s technical faculty halls, organized in collaboration with the American state university, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Students from the country express satisfaction with the opportunity to participate and are hopeful for victory. However, they say that this new experience will help them secure a job in the future.
Professor Blerim Rexha from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science provided more details about the competition. He said that the University of Prishtina is represented by four teams, which will gain new experiences in the field of cybersecurity.
Professor Festim Halili from Tetovo mentioned that this competition is important for gaining new knowledge on cybersecurity and data protection.
Participants also include students from Tirana. Professor Edlira Martiri from the University of Tirana said they expect to achieve important objectives from this competition, such as familiarizing with real attacks.
Student Vlera Islami from the Faculty of Computer Engineering says that her new experience will help her in the future job market.
Another student from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Malsor Abdyli, said that this is his second time participating in the competition. He highlights that it had a positive impact, as he entered the job market last year and became part of the cybersecurity industry.
