Moldovans Urged to Vote in Romanian Election

Politics

Romanian presidential elections are more than a political event — they shape the country's future and its influence in the EU, particularly regarding support for Moldova, said Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. In a public message, Grosu encouraged Moldovans with Romanian citizenship to participate in the elections, which will be held on May 2–4, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

“We are not just passport holders, but responsible citizens shaping Romania’s future,” Grosu emphasized. He called on Moldovans to vote at one of the 64 polling stations across the country, stressing the need for a valid Romanian ID.

In 2024, nearly 81,000 Moldovans voted in Romania’s presidential election — a record turnout. Grosu urged similar participation this year to support pro-European candidate Crin Antonescu, backed by the National Liberal Party and the European People’s Party.

Polling stations will be open daily from 07:00 to 21:00.
